Pete the Temp and Emmy the Harp
SPOKEN WORD WITH MUSIC: Wednesday 14 June, 7-9pm.

Pete (the Temp) Bearder is a loop station artist, comic and spoken word poet whose work has been featured on BBC Radio 4, World Service and Newsnight. He is a former UK Poetry Slam Champion and a firm favourite at festivals.
Pete is joined by Emmy the Harp, a classically trained harpist with collaborations across diverse sounds, from prog-rock to Afrobeat.

This evening will be an amazing and very different fusion of harp, loop machines and experimental spoken word in 'The Garden of Madness Tour'.

Ben Aaronovitch

We are delighted to welcome fantasy author Ben Aaronovitch back to Chatham Library to talk about writing the 'Rivers of London' urban fantasy series!

The series centres on the adventures of Peter Grant, a young officer in the Metropolitan Police; who, following an unexpected encounter with a ghost, is recruited into the small branch of the Met that deals with magic and the supernatural.
Peter Grant is the first English apprentice wizard in over seventy years.

The popular book series now includes a role playing game, novella and graphic novels.

Craftathon
WORKSHOPS and ACTIVITES: Saturday 24 June, 11am-4pm (last session 3.30pm).

Our 'Craft-a-long' workshop sessions have been so popular, that we've added one final day-long craft workshop. In these sessions we tried out crafts that were inspired by books by authors visiting the festival.
In this day long session we'll also be inspired by books. Throughout the day there will be a variety of crafts to try out, in 30 minute to 1-hour crafting sessions, including character creation, card making, decorating bags and more!
Refreshments will be available to purchase in the cafe.
