MASTERCLASS & PANEL: HISTORICAL FICTION WRITING WITH MICHAEL HUGHES & CHARLOTTE BYRNE

This two-hour session would consist of a one-hour creative writing workshop and a one-hour author panel. The workshop, led by the speakers, would allow attendees to develop and experiment with creative writing techniques and begin planning their own historical fiction projects, with an opportunity to share their work with their peers for feedback. We would then gather for an author panel (open to all) in which Michael and Charlotte would offer readings from their respective historical projects, followed by a Q&A session. 


Michael Hughes Michael Hughes was born and raised in Keady, Northern Ireland, and now lives in London. He attended St Patrick's Grammar School, Armagh, and read English at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He trained in theatre at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris, and has worked for many years as an actor, under the professional name Michael Colgan. He studied creative writing…
