A screening of a short film 'Joe', based on Jon Ransom's Polari Prize-winning novel 'The Whale Tattoo', followed by a Q+A with the writer, and the director Tom Brittney, and producer Oliver Powell.
Jon Ransom is an award-winning writer. His debut novel 'The Whale Tattoo' (published by Muswell Press, 2022) won the Polari First Book Prize 2023. 'The Whale Tattoo' has since been optioned by Wild Nest Pictures, with screenplay written by the author, and co-authored the short film JOE (directed and co-written by Tom Brittney). His second novel 'The Gallopers' (published by Muswell Press, 2024) won the Polari Book Prize 2024, making him the first writer to receive the award in both categories. His short stories are featured in various anthologies including FOGLIFTER, SAND Journal, Five:2:One and Queer Life, Queer Love. He grew up in Norfolk.
