POETRY REPUBLIC: THE FOUR POETS
The Four Poets are local Kent poets: Maggie Harris, Bill Lewis, Sarah Hehir and Barry Fentiman Hall.
Maggie Harris is a Guyanese poet, prose writer, and visual artist. She was awarded the Guyana Prize for Literature in 2000 and 2014 for her collections of poetry Limbolands and Sixty Years of Loving, and received the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for the Caribbean region in 2014 for 'Sending for Chantal'. Her poem 'Slave bangle, Wales' won Poetry Wales Poetry Award.
Bill Lewis was one of the legendary Medway Poets Group. He has performed his poems and has been published in magazines, journals and anthologies all over the world. His most recent collection Sparrowhawk explores the themes that are characteristic of his poetry: nature, identity, love, loss, mythology and his love of cinema.
Sarah Hehir's writing for theatre is collaborative and experimental. I…
