In Oi, You An Artist? Simon Mills wrote about his early years in Buckinghamshire, having Sylvia Sims as a babysitter, fine times in London as a young artist, painting Quentin Crisp, and meeting Andrew Lloyd-Webber while a scenic artist in The West End. But by the book's final chapter he wasn't even in Medway yet. Oi Pain'er, Gotta Bit O' Black? brings us up to speed...


About Simon Mills -

Simon Mills studied with Roger Leworthy and Arnold Van Praag at St. Albans School of Art and with Cecil Collins and David Haughton at the Central. He has had work in several London galleries as well as most of the Medway ones.

He was a fine art photographer for Sotheby’s, restored frescoes in Italy and was a scenic artist in the West End and also for the Royal Opera House.  As…
