WRITER TALK: BILL MCGUIRE


Bill McGuire is a volcanologist, climate scientist, activist, keynote speaker and writer of popular science and speculative fiction. He is Professor Emeritus of Geophysical & Climate Hazards at UCL, a Co-director of the New Weather Institute, a Patron of Scientists for Global Responsibility, and Special Scientific Advisor to WordForest.Org. His non-fiction books include Hothouse Earth: an Inhabitant's Guide, A Guide to the End of the World: Everything you Never Wanted to Know and Waking the Giant: How a Changing Climate Triggers Earthquakes, Tsunamis and Volcanoes, which was ranked 5th in a Guardian list of the best ever eco books. His debut novel, Skyseed, was published in 2020, and his short stories have been published online and in anthologies.
